A record number of 363 IWLCA college coaches attended the 2011 IWLCA President's Cup at the North Collier Regional Park in Naples Florida to evaluate over 1800 student-athletes from 92 of the nation's finest club programs.

On Thursday evening, November 17, 2011, The IWLCA announced the recipients of the organization’s service awards as well as the national assistant coaches of the year awards as the organization held its annual convention in Naples, Fla. Tracy Coyne, former head coach at Notre Dame and Rutgers, was honored with the Diane Geppi-Aikens Lifetime Achievement award. Grand Valley State’s Alicia Groveston was named the recipient of the IWLCA Service Award while Quinnipiac’s Danie Caro was presented the President’s Cup. Michele DeJuliis (Princeton) and Barb Jordan (Gettysburg) both earned the IWLCA Assistant Coach of the Year awards.

The IWLCA has recognized nine schools as earning Merit Squad status for the 2011 season, with three schools honored in each division. Institutions were named Merit Squads by virtue of having one of the top three team GPAs for the season.

What's become an annual rite of spring in Pennsylvania, is about to go national. Since 2009, teams in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference have hosted games dedicated to Lax-4-Life with rival teams warming up in matching shirts and coming together for pictures in support of a common cause. Last year it spread throughout Division II, with 36 teams pitching in.

College and club coaches agreed, the 2010 IWLCA President's Cup was one of the best tournaments they ever attended. 74 club programs from Maryland to California and Michigan to Texas attended the 2010 IWLCA President's Cup along with 283 coaches from 196 colleges and universities.

The International Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Association President’s Cup ended Sunday to finish a blitz of more than 125 games in 35 hours. Teams from around the country came to North Collier Regional Park to participate in the fast-paced tournament.

The IWLCA has recognized 369 student-athletes at 156 institutions for their excellence in the classroom during the 2009-10 academic year. All student-athletes were nominated by their institutions and have attained at least junior standing academically. Nominees considered had a GPA of at least 3.5 or were in the top 10 percent of their squad.

The 2010 IWLCA/Under Armour Champions & Capital Cups at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, PA and the Maryland Soccer Plex were a huge success with record attendance attracting 255 club programs with over 5000 student-athletes participating and over 500 college coaches in attendance to watch the contest. Parents and coaches raved that there are no other tournaments in the country that attract over 500 IWLCA college coaches to watch their players.
